Counselling and assessment services with an experienced registered member of the College of Psychologists in Pickering
Are you in need of a registered professional in Pickering? As a member of the College of Psychologists, the Ontario Association of Psychological Associates, the College of Registered Psychotherapists in Ontario, and the Ontario and Canadian Psychological Associations, I provide diagnostic assessment and counselling services to children and adolescents. I have over 15 years of experience working with a wide variety of individuals within both the medical/hospital and school settings.
Some of the challenges I am experienced working with include anxiety disorders, depression, learning and intellectual disabilities including giftedness, and disruptive behaviour disorders such as attention deficit and oppositional defiance. In addition, my strengths are in dealing with issues of immunity to change, self-esteem, relationships, parenting, grief and loss and stress management.
I have been published in well-respected journals such as the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Developmental Neuropsychology and the Journal of Developmental and Physical Disabilities, presented papers at professional conferences and have conducted numerous presentations within a school forum. I am the Vice-President of the Ontario Association of Psychological Associates (OAPA).
I maintain knowledge and implementation of both clinical and research initiatives for optimal service delivery. My orientations are cognitive-behavioural, solution-focused, utilizing mindfulness and acceptance techniques, strength-based resilience methods and positive psychology.
